This project, completed in an undergraduate digital design course, required me to design the interface of a piece of the larger mobile app for Sammy's Gourmet Subs, a fictitious client.
The client, Sammy's Gourmet Subs, is in need of an easy to use mobile app to allow its customers to make orders on the go, learn about the company and its mission, and apply to become part of the Sammy's franchising family. Sammy's idea is unique in a couple of ways, and as a result, requires a unique solution.

One important aspect of Sammy's business model is the process of creating space for new franchises. Sammy's idea is to rent out space in existing kitchens rather than owning their own buildings. This lack of a front-facing, physical building means Sammy's needs a strong and accessible mobile app, and, for my specific piece of the project, an intuitive and effective channel for prospective kitchen lessors to connect with Sammy's and apply to rent out their kitchens.
The Process
researching + ideating
This stage involved exploration into Sammy's business model, building and understanding buyer personas, conducting competitor analysis, and sketching out rough ideas

prototyping
In the prototyping stage, I began to build wireframes based on my initial sketches using Balsamiq. My main focus was creating a logical and intuitive flow of information while reducing user experience pain points I had discovered in my research. While these wireframes were purposely kept minimal in design, I began to consider what images, colors, and design elements might enhance the experience.
user testing
After creating low-fidelity prototypes in Balsamiq, I conducted guerrilla user testing at my university's student center to observe how first-time users interacted with my prototype to discover areas for revision and improvement. This exercise was valuable in refining my design and ensuring that my decisions supported a universally accessible and intuitive user experience.

revising + refining
The final phase of the process was revising my design based on feedback gathered from user testing and refining until the output was as detailed and realistic as I could make it given the limitations of prototyping on Adobe XD as well as the project timeline. During this phase, I focused especially on the details in order to produce a clean and effective high-fidelity prototype.
The Result
Interactive Prototype (Adobe XD)
